We are pleased to announce that our law firm has successfully obtained yesterday a court order from the District Court of Nicosia for stay of legal proceedings on behalf of our clients, a construction company.

The decision was rendered following a hearing on the application we submitted, concerning a construction contract under POEEM, which included an arbitration clause.

The court, fully adopting our arguments, reiterated the well-established principles governing the suspension of lawsuits due to an arbitration clause, as outlined in the rulings of the Supreme Court. This important decision strengthens the position of arbitration as a means of resolving disputes in construction contracts and ensures our clients’ right to a fair and swift resolution of their disputes through the pre-agreed process.
