Michalis Ioannou

Michalis Ioannou is an Associate Lawyer at Loizides & Associates LLC. He advises and represents clients across a wide spectrum of legal matters, with particular focus on civil, commercial, corporate, and construction law. Michalis has extensive experience in corporate law, having represented Cypriot companies with multi-million-euro assets in complex and high-value proceedings, including the provision of legal advice and court representation in matters relating to mergers, acquisitions, derivative actions, and capital reductions. His work also encompasses drafting legal documents and opinions, as well as conducting in-depth legal research to strengthen the firm’s strategic capabilities.

He has played a key role in the firm’s success in complex and high-profile cases concerning large-scale commercial projects, interim applications, construction disputes, and other multifaceted legal issues.

A graduate of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.), Michalis was admitted to the Cyprus Bar Association in 2023.

Stavrina Karakatsiani

Stavrina Karakatsiani is the Head of the Limassol Department at Loizides & Associates LLC, with extensive experience in litigation and arbitration at both national and international levels. A graduate of the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, she began her legal career with a traineeship at one of the largest law firms in Cyprus, before building over a decade of expertise in managing complex, high-value disputes.

She has acted in multi-million-euro commercial and institutional disputes, representing clients from Cyprus and abroad — including private companies, international investors, major institutions, the Parliament of the Republic of Cyprus, a major university, and one of Cyprus’s largest professional associations. Her track record includes appearances before all levels of the courts of Cyprus, as well as in arbitration proceedings, in matters involving high-value commercial disputes, administrative law cases, banking litigation, employment claims, and complex multi-party proceedings.

In addition to her extensive advocacy work, Ms. Karakatsiani also serves as an arbitrator, applying her deep legal insight and practical approach to the fair and efficient resolution of disputes. She has been a member of the Cyprus Bar Association since 2015.

Michalis Karakatsianis

Michalis is the Managing Director of a well-established Cyprus Investment Firm and the Chief Operating Officer of a Multinational Group with offices in Spain, Malta, Cyprus and the United Kingdom.

He studied in the National Kapodistrian University of Athens, where he got his BSc in Economics with focus in Banking and Finance. He holds an LCCI qualification in accounting and passed CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Level I. Michalis also passed CySEC’s advanced examination in 2013.

Before being an Executive Director, he worked both as a COO and Chief Dealing Officer in other reputable investment firms.

Throughout his career, he acquired a piece of extensive knowledge in managing top-to-bottom Investment Firms and has further worked with regulators across the globe such as CySEC, FCA, FSA Seychelles, IFSC Belize and ASIC Australia.

Michalis has served on many occasions as the leading trainer in all business aspects of Investment Firms, both externally and internally of his main working environment.

He currently serves as a council to the Loizides and Associates for matters concerning setting up Cyprus Investments Firms and as an advisor for AML, Trading Products/Platforms, Risk Management, Back-Office and of course Regulatory requirements and standards.

Evangelos Evangelou

Evangelos Evangelou is an accomplished IT Manager and Computer Science Lecturer with over a decade of experience in leading IT operations and educating future tech professionals.
